M: Really?
F: Didn't you see the notice? She's the monitor.

Ml: For twenty years.
M2: Quite an old habit.
Ml: Do you smoke, John?
M2: No, I don't and I have saved quite a lot of money.
Ml: I wish I hadn' t learnt to smoke.

Chess is one of the oldest games in the world. It was probably invented in India long before 900. Now there have been some changes in chess and people can play in different ways. Chess is such a wonderful game that more and more people > in our country begin to show their interest in it, though chess takes time and requires thought.

Women who have lost their husbands call themselves the Merry Widows in the United States. It is a sort of club. They go abroad every summer for a month or two and have a lot of fun. They always go everywhere together. Mrs. White wanted to join the club for a long time, but she didn' t qualify herself for membership until the spring of this year

Modern inventions make our life easy and comfortable. A washing machine helps us to wash clothes quickly. A printing machine helps us to print a lot of books and newspapers. A computer brings us convenience in many ways.
